Eva Ivanov

Let me introduce Eva to you.  I grew up knowing her through my parents and our small town's local theatre.  She is a very, very talented lady artistically, theatrically and in many other respects but I did not know she was a talented painter as well.   Please take a few minutes to look at some of her water colour pieces on her website and you'll see what I mean.

Some of her paintings are painted on a product called Terraskin.  It's a like paper but it's not made from trees, it's made from stone!  This is just one of my favourites

Body, Art and Soul

I am very excited!  I am sending a box of various wood burnings to a newly opened studio in Palgrave, ON, called In Studio Be

They cater to the three important elements of well being: body, art and soul.  They offer whole body vibration, infrared sauna and massage, acupuncture, meditation and discussion groups, Mojomotion/pilates/yoga classes, and visual and performing arts workshops in a variety of disciplines to nurture the ‘whole’ self.

I haven't had a chance to visit yet myself, because I live too far away, but it sounds wonderful!  Everything you could ask for all in one place.

They feature local artists' work and right now have a gorgeous collection of wildlife photography on display by a very talented photographer, Ron Pitts.

I still have a few things to finish but I'm hoping to have the box in the mail by Friday.  I'll post pictures of what I'm sending soon.

If you're in the Palgrave area I recommend you stop by the studio to see what it's all about!  www.instudiobe.com

Hello again!

Ok, I'll admit it...I am probably one of the worst bloggers out there!  I have great intentions and think up many wonderful things to blog about but I never seem to get the time to sit and actually do it.  Life gets in the way.  I don't know how other bloggers manage, especially when they have the same responsibilites that I have: family, house, business, the rest of life.  It amazes me.  Do they sleep?

Anyway, I will continue to try to post something.  Can't guarantee that it will be on a regular basis but I will try to do something.

Today I want to introduce you to Vincent Doan.  This guy is amazing!!  I mean AMAZING!

He does marquetry and he does it extremely well.  My grandfather dabbled in a little marquetry too but nothing like this.

Please, please, please check out his website to learn more about marquetry and visit his Etsy shop to see more of his beautiful artwork!  He's got a hummingbird piece that you HAVE to see!!

A BIG congratulations to Nathalie at Arcana Dea Design for being the winner of my first giveaway!

Thank you to everyone who entered!!

I'm sorry it's taken me a few days to get this posted!  Last week was crazy while we worked on getting our house ready to be listed.  Hopefully, things will be relatively back to normal and I'll be able to post a little more often.

Again, thank you to everyone for sharing your wonderful answers to the question:  "What makes you happy?"!

Giveaway time!

What makes you happy????

Is it your kids, grandkids, music, a hobby, your vehicle?  Maybe it's something new you've discovered or something that made you happy when you were a kid.  I want to know what puts a twinkle in your eye, makes your heart skip a beat, makes you feel giddy all over and puts that silly smile on your face.  You know the one.

Tell me what makes you happy and you could win your very own personalized sign like this garden one I made in the summer.

So how do you enter?  It’s easy!  Submit your entry (what makes you happy) and your email address in the comment section of my Facebook page or on this blog.

I will do a random draw on Friday, October 14, 2011 and notify the winner by email.  The winner will then have 48 hours to respond.  If the prize is not claimed I will pick another winner.

If I receive more than 50 entries I will add a second prize so be sure to tell you friends and family about the giveaway too!

Hey!  Why not think about what makes your family and friends happy?  Who knows you could win a very unique Christmas gift for that hard to buy for relative and check them off your shopping list early!  Yay!!

This giveaway is open to Canadian and U.S. residents only.  The approximate value of the prize is $40 and includes S&H. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for production and delivery.

This is my first giveaway so if I've forgotten or missed anything or you have any questions please let me know.

Thanks and Good Luck!!!
Keep Smiling!
